Bridging retail opportunities for BIPOC led companies

Bridges Overview

Bridges began as a collaboration between Built Oregon, Hacienda CDC, Soul District , APANO and Naya PDX to bring awareness and opportunity to underrepresented consumer product companies through retail partnerships with Market of Choice, Tender Loving Empire , New Seasons Market, Basics Market and World Foods.

The program idea is to provide invaluable retail experience, buyer feedback, and exposure – all of which helps give them a foundation upon which to build.

Since its inception, the Bridges program has had almost 100 company presentations and added World Foods, New Seasons Market, and Basics Market as retail partners.

Bridges Booth at the PSU Farmers Market

Launched the summer of 2023, Built is collaborating with the Portland Farmers Market to have a Bridges booth at their PSU Farmers Market. This will be an ongoing collaboration through which we will highlight BIPOC led companies and their products throughout the season.

“Built Oregon and the Bridges program have been an integral part of our business success. They have provided me with mentorship, opportunities to meet with retailers, highlighted us on social media and given us a chance to showcase products at events. With the support and encouragement the Bridges program provided, we are now in 32 stores and counting!”
